I think I'm dying. Of course, this isn't the first hasty medical decision I've made this week.
I started off not feeling well. I decided I had to be sick, because all I wanted to do was sleep. Then, I decided that I probably had mono (on account of all the sleeping.) It turned out I was just bored (Not really). But I don't think it's mono anymore, because I'm not quite constantly tired. Well, I've got it all figured out now: I have a sinus infection. I don't even know if this is related to my previous 'not feeling good and sleeping all the time' or not. But I've definitley got some serious things happening inside my nose. I am the winner!
Only one class today. And we're having cheap Papa John's pizza tonight (I think Darren is calling this the First Annual Poppy Day) so that's good. Ben Folds was just incredible last night. He played Video, Last Immitation of Myself and Boxing, which arer two songs I have always really loved and wanted to hear live, so it made me quite happy. Then we hung out with Xouhoa (say it Sue-ah) afterwards. Great night, bad sinuses. You're cool...I'm out.

I know I don't address issues of the world much around here, but I thought about this in my (boring) western civ class the other day. You know, the region of Kashmir, India has been fought over by India and Pakistan for as long as the two countries have existed, and I think I may have solved the problem. How about we just make Kashmir its own country? Now, there's a good reason to do this...it's because the led zeppelin song Kashmir could easily be turned into their national anthem. Led Zeppelin just recently allowed their music to be used for a commercial for the first time, which means they're not opposed to giving people the rights to use their music in the proper situation. And let's face it, any country whose national anthem features a heavy, easily recognizable guitar riff by Jimmy Page would quickly become repsected by other nations (who could only reply with "well, you know...'Oh Canada' has...a pretty...um...catchy tune!")

And think about the sporting events. You know how they sing the national anthem after they introduce the teams? Well, they could totally do both at the same time if Kashmir was their national anthem. The crowd could get all patriotic and pumped up for sports at the same time! Think of all the times you tend to hear the Star Spangled Banner: parades, fireworks displays, and some schools play it before school in the morning when you're little...now, think about living in the glorious nation of Kashmir: parades and fireworks displays suddenly become totally sweet! And before school, kids get a little bit of a lesson in Rock'n'Roll. The end of the the TV networks' broadcasting day would even be like ten thousand times cooler!

So, India. Pakistan. I beg of you: Fifty three years after a United Nations cease fire seperated the land of Kashmir into two seperate factions, please work to end this bitter dispute. Not because your differences are settled. Not because you are changed people.
But because it would be awesome.
