Here's the real story of today. Today was beautiful...like a day where you fake sick from school in jr high. I had lots of those. I watched a movie (saving silverman) and I played super nintendo (earthbound). I played guitar. I talked to Dan McMahon and my brother on the phone. I actually got to hear the studio version of "the secret life of morgan davis." It's brilliant..it has the most ridiculous, gross goofy lyrics. It even mentions Wesley Willis. I wanted to sing it on the way to class, but I opted not to...you'd understand why if you heard the song. Then, when I got to class (my only one) it was cancelled. Wonderful. So I came back here and worked on making the blog look nicer (look at my new links..read other blogs, and please...do yourself a favor and visit landis' website often..it's just proves how funny he is.) Then, tonight,Aaron Weinberg came to NIU with a friend of his, Bryan Briggs (we should hook this guy up with Brian Regan..then they'd just have my name. Or at least they'd have Bryan Bregans. Close enough for me.) We didn't have much to do around here, and we thought it would be the king of random and fun jestures if we dropped by Amy's house. And she believed me when I told her (on the phone standing on her front porch) that I was still in Dekalb, no matter what she tells you. So, that about explains everything. What a great day. Beat that, Friday. I dare you.
Dance to this: I'm in Rockford, completely randomly. I'm just here. And get this--I'm with Amy Janopoulos, Dan and Aaron Weinberg. Yes, Aaron Weinberg. We were just in the hottub. Best thursday ever. We might not go to sleep tonight, we're going to drive back to DeKalb in a little bit. I'll probably write more tommorow afternoon (assuming I'm not taking a nap), but for now I'd better call it quits because this computer is terrible (hence, no weekend blogs 'til sundays). Also, Amy wins, because we came to see her. As long as she considers us prizes, she wins big time.

ah...where to begin. I got up sometime in the eights to get ready for class. Normal things. I'd like to take a break for normal things to address the big bombshell Dan dropped on his blog today. That's huge. I wanted to slyly allude to it yesterday, but I decided I didn't need to be like that...I talked about White Chocolate's sundaes instead. So, wow. I just want you all to recognize..this is huge. Congratulations, Dan. Wow.

I got to hear a bunch of new Ben Folds songs today..that was incredible. New ones not on "rockin' the suburbs"..plus, I found out that there's a studio version of this song called 'the secret life of morgan davis' ..and, well..knowing that a studio version of that song is within my reach makes me real happy. Ben is on Craig Kilborn tommorow night, and I think he's going to play 'still fighting it' which is great...so, everybody stay up and watch. No falling asleep like last time...

I'm rockin' out to some Elvis Costello...well, 'rockin' isn't the right word. I'm enjoying. Somehow, I managed to leave the Elvis Costello/Burt Bacharach CD in Rockford. No copies of it here. So, that's kind of a downer now that I'm really in the mood for it...but oh well. I guess I'll pick it up on the weekend.

Why don't I ever go to bed at reasonable hours? I feel a nap for tommorow afternoon coming on. I woke up kind of early today and did some random computer stuff. Dan got back from Rockford at about 10:30, and we watched starwars stuff from the DVD which is cool. It made me really excited about the next movie. What a nerd. Then, Dan and Jordan went to class and I changed the strings on my guitar and tried to write some more stuff in this essay I've been working on about 'the ralph waldos'...if you don't know what I mean, you will soon. I got really bored this afternoon for some odd reason...then I went to class, spent a few hours in my friend Abel's room. We ate dinner, watched 'undeclared' (did I explain how we all watched undeclared when it first came on to make fun of it, but now we watch it regularly because of the strange parallels it has to Steve Marek's life? More on that later, I suppose.) Darren Johnson isn't going to be at NIU anymore 'til next semester, which is completely ridiculous. He and Abel and I went to Wal-Mart tonight to pick up a few things...one of which was especially for tonight's blog...but I couldn't scan it in correctly..so you'll have to wait. I've gotta get some sleep. Dan and I spent way too long tonight trying to figure out the most unhealthy things we could possibly eat (because of thespark.com's Fat Project.) It's sort of interesting...what do you think is the worst possible thing you could eat? I said White Chocolate's 'individual ice cream sundaes' ...this is where WC takes a spoon, the whole carton of ice cream, the whole bottle of whatever chocolate sauce he can find and a whole can of whipped cream and makes tiny sundaes with each bite. Goodnight, those are unhealthy. Gotta love the WC. The worst thing we found online is some 'big country sausage' breakfast sandwhich at Hardees..it tipped the scale at 1000 calories for a single serving. You know what the worst part of that is? I'll bet dollars to donuts that it's really nasty. Oh well.

I'm so tired. Just finished a paper. When I write papers, they always work the same way. First, I must wait until I don't have much time left to get the paper done. Dan Davis once told me that if you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute. He heard it from someone else, I think. Either way, I think it's a great validation for my own laziness, innit? After I have waited a long time to start the paper, it's important for me to write a little bit of it and then stop writing it for a while. Procrastinate the heck out of it. I did this. All afternoon. Seriously. I was alone in the dorm, but all I did was read things, play guitar talk to lots of cool people and eat donuts. I did anything but work. I also helped Jason Gorski answer an obscure trivia question (what was the name of the horse in The Neverending Story?) So, finally then about 11:00 when Dan and some others left for Rockford (I wanted to go with...The Phantom Menace just came out on DVD, but I'm broke and I had this paper to write, so I did the responsible thing.) I got crackin'...kinda. I ended up procrastinating a bit more, which should be no surprise. Oh yeah...the final important part of me writing a paper is finishing it sometime in the wee hours of the morning while listening to the white album, which you may have guessed, I just did. Rock. The paper's all about free will and the book A Clockwork Orange (which I reccommend highly, but boy is it strange). I think it's solid stuff..we'll see if it holds up tommorow. After the paper, I worked on some songs I'm writing, wrote the blog and went to sleep. well...maybe that's getting a little ahead of myself.

One blog for the weekend. I'm back here in DeKalb..watching a tape of some tv shows. Here's a rundown of what's been going on: Friday night in Rockford with White Chocolate. Ate some dinner, then went to old chicago and watched some other people eat dinner. My sister was there, so she hung out for a bit. Saturday was pretty normal, except Dan and I ended up going to the Ramada to work for a few hours. That hotel would sink into the ground if not for my brother and sister, it's insane...things just wouldn't function. But on the bright side, Dan and I now have mad napkin folding skillz. And I dropped 2 glasses of ice water. Who trusts me to carry dozens of slippery, cold glasses of water? My hands got numb. Napkin skillz, sure. Motor skillz? Nope. Then we went for sushi and karaoke. It was great. Robert (owner's son) taught Dan and I new napkin skillz that you'll have to see to believe. Sunday was great america, which was good. That brings us to now.

A lot of you guys know Jason's roommate Sam. He's a great guy. First time I met him, though, I was convinced he looked like this one actor, but I couldn't name the actor. People didn't believe me. Just like they didn't believe me when I said that Tom Sellek was actually the guy on the Red Baron frozen pizza boxes. (He is. I swear.) Anyway, I swore Sam looked like this movie star. So, now, the whole thing is solved. Sam looks like Luis Guzman..he was in Traffic. I'm not crazy (because of this, anyway.) Check it out. So, I guess that's enough fun for one night. Anyone who has Abbey Road should go and listen to the long medley tonight. (anyone who hasn't heard it, let me know. You gotta hear it, I'll send you an mp3 or something.) It's genius...beautiful...Goodnight.
