So, we just got back from milwaukee. Today was run-of-the mill...although I did get some supercool stuff Dan picked up for me in Rockford. The oldschool debut EP of a band called 'lift to experience.' They only pressed a few thousand of them in 1997, and somehow I just got one last thursday. Not to mention they shipped it from Scottland in less that a week! Amazing. Going to see the anniversary was fantastic..they played their entire new album (not out 'til january) and a bunch of old songs on top of that. The new stuff is good, but I'd say it's quite a bit different from their first record (you can download one song here..it's called 'sweet marie'..which leads me to believe they dig Bob Dylan) And get this--the keyboardist is a cute girl, and she was walking through the crowd during one of the opening acts, and she touched us. Now, maybe I shouldn't be excited about that...I know, not a big deal, right? But you gotta have things to get excited about in life. Plus, c'mon. Cute Rockstar girl. Can't beat that on your average Thursday night.

So, there's this girl Xouhoa (pronounced sue-ah) who goes to school in Milwaukee, and Dan and I had considered calling her today to see if she wanted to go to the show, but we didn't know her number. Well, get this--she was at the show anyway. So that was great. We ate some dinner with her and this guy Morgan after the show. Turns out Dan and I went to gradeschool with Morgan, but both of us only remember his sister. He was a year younger than us, she wasn't. We drove back to NIU with a quick stop at Hucks in Rockford. Now, Dan and I are watching Ed in the dormroom. He insists we must see it before we sleep. Overall, I'd give this night...like a seven or eight out of ten. I'm very satisfied. Although, DBC on the Late Late show was really dissapointing...I don't know what happened, Chris dropped the ball hardcore. Both with his singing and his hair. But, then again...I can't write songs like that. So I suppose I'll cut him some slack this time. Lots of other stuff did happen today...but I just don't have the will to write about it right now. So, maybe later.

Hey--just as a sidenote, Dashboard Confessional is going to be on the late late show with Craig Kilborn on CBS thursday night. Show starts at 11:30. Be there or be square.

Today felt like I was living in a Travis song...probably "As You Are" or "Writing to Reach You." I'm sure not all of you listen to Travis, so let that be some encouragement to download a song or two. It really overcast when I got up for class, and by the time I got out of my first class it was raining. I didn't have an umbrella, but I don't mind walking in rain. For the most part anyway....but when I walked from my last class back to the dorm it was like showering with my clothes on. It's all good, though. The afternoon was short and uneventful. It seems like a lot of people I know are having troubles...and, well...I don't know. When people I care about have troubles..it always makes my troubles seem so insignificant. So I just did homework and tried not to worry about folks. Dan went to Rockford to get a haircut and pick up some stuff from my house...so I'm rockin' the dormroom alone tonight. Probably gonna watch a movie. Maybe Halloween 3, which could be the worst movie ever. (Sing it with me kids: "21 more days 'till halloween, halloween, halloween, 21 more days 'til halloween, silver shamrock!" --if you feel left out by not knowing the song, it's okay. Really.) We're going to see The Anniversary tommorow night. I'm psyched.

Today was interesting...locked myself out of the room at about 11:00...in my pajamas. Hadn't showered or done anything to make myself not look like Hugh Grant's flatmate in Notting Hill (you want to act like you haven't seen Notting Hill, that's your perogative.) Didn't get back in the room until about 3:30, and at that time it was too late to go to my one class. So that was good. I rule. It's all Ben's fault anyway--he's one of my suitemates. Long story. Talked to my sister today, and it turns out that some records I ordered from Ireland on last thursday have already gotten to Rockford, so I'm real psyched. Oh yeah--Vagrant Records is offering all kinds of crazy free stuff to anyone who donates money to the WTC victims through them..so check it out.

Hm...so one of the entries is missing...I don't know what happened to it either, so...I don't know. Imagine you read it already. I'll bet it was really funny.

You know, this being my first real post and all, (assuming it works) I feel like I should say something profound..but I was just going to get lunch...so I'll probably save the brilliant thoughts for later this afternoon. For now, does anyone have a name for my blog? I'm open to suggestions.
